NTA Volunteers Support The CornerStone Initiative

On Monday, April 17th, Tonda Carter, from NTA’s HR team volunteered for The CornerStone Initiative by reviewing resumes. Through CornerStone’s eight-week Jobs for Life class, they provide people who are unemployed or underemployed with a community where they are challenged to become the best workers that God has created them to be. Career assessments, resume writing, interviewing skills, soft skills, etc., are all part of this faith-based curriculum.

Each student is paired with a trained mentor called a “Champion” who attends every class with the students and cheers them on toward personal growth. Tonda Carter from NTA met with members of the Jobs for Life class at Habitat for Humanity to edit and make suggestions for improving their resumes. The Resume Review is Session 9 of the overall Jobs for Life course.

“It’s a privilege to work with people on their resumes and help them to be prepared for the workforce,” said Jeff Rhea, Vice President of NTA, Inc. “We’re thankful to The CornerStone Initiative for providing mentorship and guidance to students who need it most, and we’re proud to have been a part of this initiative.”
